Position: Lead Environmental Scientist

Location: Saudi Arabia (Relocation package is included)

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma: Bachelor’s degree in Ecology/Biology/Agricultural Science/ Environmental Science/Forest conservation and restoration from a recognized and approved program. A master's degree in any major related to environmental studies is required. A PhD degree in any major related to environmental studies is preferred.
• Seven 7 years of experience in the environmental field, either in academia or industry, including at least 1-5 years specifically focused on nature-based solutions (NBS).
• Experience in environmental activities in the oil industry is preferred.
• Ability to speak, write, and present reports or articles in English using scientifically correct terminology and terms acceptable at various intellectual levels.
• Able to demonstrate extensive knowledge. A thorough understanding of environmental practices worldwide is also necessary.
• Documents and Certificates required to the position.
• Valid Passport: Europe - UK – TR – AZ.
• English - Spoken, read, and written.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

• As a Lead Environmental Scientist, you will perform a wide range of environmental. You will provide consultation in a specific area of discipline for company, national, and international organizations. This includes determining, evaluating, and recommending controls to eliminate environmental risks in work and surrounding areas to protect public health and the environment from harmful pollution. You will initiate, plan, and direct routine or special studies of various disciplines as a work director or team leader. This will involve establishing objectives and methodologies, reviewing data collected and analyzed by the team, and preparing and presenting final reports and scientific papers. Your responsibility will also include developing performance criteria for teams and personnel.
• In this role, you are considered an expert in the environmental field. You will serve as a technical consultant in one or more of these areas within the department and to other departments, the national government, local industries, and international organizations on request. Additionally, you will develop criteria and direct teams responsible for assessing and reporting on environmental compliance in all areas of company business. You will also evaluate the viability of ongoing environmental compliance and awareness programs.
• As a Lead Environmental Scientist, you will have frequent contact with other Scientists, Specialists, Engineers, and technical support personnel within the company and contractors to rectify compliance issues and resolve relevant problems. You will also meet regularly with client operating groups on awareness issues and have occasional contact with leaders from local government, industry, communities, or international organizations on environment-related issues.
