Overview
A Mechanical Engineer specializing in Rotating Equipment to join the Reliability Unit at Shaybah Maintenance division of Shaybah Producing Department.
Shaybah Maintenance division/Reliability Unit (RU) provides technical support for all Shaybah Producing Department facilities. RU focuses on leveraging specialized engineering and technical expertise across various disciplines to enhance profitability while adhering to the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility. RU strive to enhance reliability and efficiency, minimize costs and meet the highest standards of safety and environment.
The Reliability Engineer's primary role is to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new engineers. The RU engineer shall conduct special studies and analysis in a specialized field related to mechanical rotating equipment including Combustion Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Gas Compressors, integrally geared Air Compressors, fans, blowers, multi-stage centrifugal pumps, reciprocating and rotary pumps.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement various programs aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and efficiency and minimize costs throughout the equipment lifecycle. These programs include but are not limited to FMEA, Criticality Assessment, PM and Switchover Optimization, Condition Monitoring, Lubricant Analysis, equipment performance evaluation, Bad Actors Mitigation, RAM study and Obsolescence Management.
Troubleshoot rotating equipment failures, trips and under-performance issues.
Enhance equipment MTBF through conducting detailed RCA and expediting implementation of corrective actions.
Enhance MTTR through ensuring critical spare-parts and tools inventory, developing equipment repair procedures and providing technical assistance to maintenance crew at site.
Conduct systematic RCA of equipment trips, defects and failures through FRACAS.
Explore and deploy new technologies aimed at enhancing rotating equipment reliability and efficiency and minimize maintenance and operating costs.
Develop scope for equipment repair and communicate with vendors and mechanical repair shops.
Support planning and materials teams to catalog and order rotating equipment spare parts.
Support Operations and Engineering teams to troubleshoot process related issues that affect rotating equipment reliability.
Participate in HAZOP review sessions and expedite completion of recommended actions.
Participate in MOC review process related to design and configuration changes for rotating equipment.
Participate in studies and programs initiated by Corporate Maintenance Services.
Participate in conferences and seminars to deliver technical knowledge sharing presentations.
Develop and transfer knowledge of rotating equipment to new engineers.
Minimum Requirements
The candidate shall hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant work experience in the design review, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical rotating equipment and auxiliary systems.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil/Gas processing industry, knowledge of the international standards and codes related to rotating equipment especially API-610, 617, 682, 614, 670 and 684.
In addition, the candidate shall understand mechanical seals for pumps and compressors.
You should be proficient in English language with good presentation and communication skills.
