Permanent Relocation to Saudi Arabia
ICM Group is seeking an experienced Piping and Valves Engineer to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, and the deployment of new technologies related to piping and valve systems. You will lead and conduct technical studies, analyses, and evaluations covering areas such as stress analysis, hydrotest pressure calculations, rating and de-rating, fitness-for-service assessments, flange and nozzle/branch calculations, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct complex engineering analyses for the design, specification, and application of piping and valves.
- Evaluate, select, and specify piping and valve systems to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
- Investigate piping and valve failures, determine root causes, and recommend preventive actions.
- Participate in HAZOP reviews and technical risk assessments.
- Provide engineering support for hydrocarbon leak repairs, including reviewing and approving bolted clamp designs and calculations.
- Perform detailed mechanical calculations, including:
- Minimum wall thickness for internal/external pressure
- Branch reinforcement and MAWP calculations (ASME B31.3)
- Hydrotest pressure, rating/de-rating per API 570
- Fitness-for-service evaluations per API 579
- Pipe stress analysis using Caesar II
- Flange and nozzle calculations (ASME VIII Div. 1, WRC-107/297) using PVElite
- Conduct Hot Tap calculations per company standards and API 2201.
- Provide guidance on on-stream inspections and CML optimization.
- Prepare Engineering Work Requests (EWRs), including design packages, scopes of work, welding and NDT procedures, material lists, and drawings/sketches.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas downstream sector, with at least 10 years specializing in piping and valves.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO) and relevant engineering software.
- Proficient in piping stress analysis using Caesar II.
- Experienced in advanced NDE techniques related to piping and valves.
- Deep understanding of fitness-for-service (API 579) methodologies.
- Proven experience in inspection, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of piping and valve systems.
- Valid passport holder and residing in North, Central, or South America.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience with piping vibration analysis and cement-lined, rubber-lined, or non-metallic piping is highly desirable.
